In 2012, Vidhu Vinod Chopra talked to me about creating a trailer for a retrospective celebrating 30 years of his illustrious career. Those familiar with Chopra’s films would understand it was a heavy responsibility on my young shoulders. No anthology of Indian cinema is complete without mention of his films.

Having worked with him a number of years, I wrote words that resonated with his work and his life… And they evolved into the script. I collaborated with editor Rachit Mehta for a few weeks, pulling out imagery and structuring it such that it would do justice to Chopra’s three decade long journey.

Shantanu Moitra created the score of the film. This trailer played before every screening in PVR cinemas across the country for two weeks prior to the retrospective. I’m proud to say it received tremendous appreciation from the Indian film fraternity.
